Description: The cliffs of Céüse are also a very famous climbing site. One of the world's hardest routes is found there. The ninth grade is the highest level of difficulty in sport climbing according to the French grading system. It consists of six grades: 9a, 9a+, 9b, 9b+, 9c, and 9c+, although currently no route is graded 9c+. The first route recognized in this grade is Action Directe, opened by Wolfgang Güllich in 1991. At the beginning of 2017, nearly 300 routes in the ninth grade were counted, including about thirty graded 9a+, 10 graded 9b, 4 at 9b+ level, and one graded 9c.
