Description:
From the locality Quarazza m 1305 (Bieno - Tesino) via forest road then trail to the homonymous malga, where skis can be put on. We climb keeping more to the left of the itinerary to Forzelon di Rava, reaching a saddle on the Frate ridge just south of Cimon Rava, traverse to the W side (Val di Rava) to Forzelon, from which briefly to the summit. From Forzelon we traverse north on steep slopes descending to the bottom of the valley rising to Cima Trento. On increasingly steep slope channel we reach the marked saddle m 2470 W of Cima Trento, from which a nice channel descends to Val Orsera. Leaving skis we traverse right to the base of the rocks to enter a narrow channel of transformed snow with icy bottom allowing a fairly safe ascent, average slope 60°. Ice axe and our beloved pick stick, serious crampons, 30m rope, slings and some carabiners. Rocks to its left have some gear: piton, metal sling and thin chains helping to overcome a vertical section and where we can belay for first stop, then another on spur, arrival at a crest notch with two pitons and sling, then easy short ridge to summit, the highest of the Rava group m 2530. Current conditions alpine difficulty AD.
