The wide valley floor and many secondary valleys are accessible in all seasons, on foot or with snowshoes. Famous is the cross-country ski trail, where the annual 43 km Gran Paradiso March takes place. In the small locality of Valnontey rises the Alpine Botanical Garden Paradisia, which invites you to discover alpine blooms, medicinal plants and lichens (from mid-June to mid-September). Very characteristic is the historic center of Cogne, at 1,544 m a.s.l., a town of about 1,500 inhabitants located in the southern part of the Aosta Valley autonomous region.
