Description:
SK: The monastery, belonging to the Franciscan order, was founded in 1618 at the site where, according to legend, Saint Catherine appeared to the young count and hermit Ján Apponyi. The buildings were constructed in early Baroque with late Gothic elements. The Italian architect Pietro Spazzo probably contributed to this interesting creation.
