Description: The Pays de Bray is the well-kept little secret of Seine-Maritime. We went there to discover its famous Boutonnière, the Hellet forest, and its castle.
The Pays de Bray is intimate Normandy. The one that opens its doors wide to the curious visitor eager to pick up the smallest treasures of the department. In this large comma, with an exceptional geological origin, a characteristic landscape is revealed that is very poetically called 'the Boutonnière' here. A terroir that breathes a well-kept secret. However, a tourist dynamic has started there for several years to reveal the history and landscape heritage of what is considered here as the department's water castle. And speaking of castle, it is precisely in front of that of Mesnières-en-Bray, in the Béthune valley, that I have an appointment to explore this Boutonnière. On the program: a remarkable belvedere and a forest to leaf through, along an easy and immersive loop between cultivated slopes and undergrowth. Looking for another vision of Seine-Maritime? Go no further, it's here, in Pays de Bray!
