Description:
Here is how to make your own maple water at home! While maple water is a trendy new drink on the market is has been known and enjoyed by indigenous peoples for hundreds of years! Today's health conscious consumer is seeking low sugar organic alternatives to high sucrose soft drinks. Maple water contains oligosaccharides, polyphenols, prebiotics, electrolytes, antioxidants, minerals including potassium, magnesium and calcium and the purest water! At only 2 % sugar it is has have the sugar of also trendy coconut water and is considered a low sugar alternative beverage on the health food market. Some athletes swear by it as a natural effective rehydration drink for before, during and after exercise. I will show you how in this video (DIY- Do IT Yourself ) to tap your own maple trees and harvest your own maple water! It is easy to do and so delicious and rewarding in itself. I encourage the use of food grade collection equipment, cleanliness, sterilizing all with 1/10 Chlorox solution, and filtering or sterilizing the end product before consumption. While the maple water in the tree is all but sterile, bacteria love sugar and water, and can grow overtime in the tab hole and on splines and more. Store maple water in the fridge and consume in 5 days.
