They dominate unchallenged, majestic and elegant. Wherever you look, there they are, touching the sky some brushing, others exceeding three thousand meters in height. They are the peaks forming the Pale di San Martino, the largest mountain group of the Dolomites. The famous mountains, from Cimon della Pala (3,184 m) to Vezzana (3,192 m), from Rosetta (2,742 m) to Pala (2,987 m), form a circular crown delimiting a vast plateau of about fifty square kilometers of bare rock with deep crevasses whose end cannot be seen. For the exceptional universal value of this natural beauty, the geological system of the Pale is included in the 'Dolomites' site, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2009.
