Description: Ortler is a relatively frequently visited mountain. The normal route is a difficult high alpine and glacier tour. In the rocky section, on the Tabaretta ridge, there is a steep part secured with chains and a shorter section without belay, where it is necessary to climb a rock in difficulty II-III UIAA (most people use a rope for self-belay). Then to the glacier over a steep snow or firn slope (Barenloch), which can cause problems with lack of snow (glacier equipment necessary). The remaining part of the ascent is a relatively easy glacier walk to the summit, where there is a cross.
