Description: The equipped path and shelter are dedicated to Frederick Augustus III (1865-1932), the last king of Saxony, hunter and great alpinism enthusiast, who frequented the Julian Alps in the early 1900s. He leased from the Carinthian Religious Fund a vast area of the Tarvisio forest (about 19,000 hectares) where he stayed at least three times a year for hunting.
