That's how it is! When you cancel (on Wednesday) due to bad weather, the next day's participation is low, as everyone is busy with other commitments. So we found ourselves only six to go to Bazena, aiming for both Cima Laione and Monte Frerone. We start at 7:30 from Rifugio Tassara (1802 m) enveloped in thick fog; fortunately, it clears when we pass the saddle leading into the vast basin dominated by M. Frerone. The trail is No. 1: Alta Via dell'Adamello. Skirting M. Cadino, we reach Passo di Val Fredda (2338 m). Then, along a flat mule track, we arrive at Passo della Vacca (2335 m) and the nearby Rifugio Tita Secchi. Keeping Lago della Vacca to the left, we climb through extensive scree to Passo di Blumone (2633 m) at 10:30. Alternating fog and sun give the mountain a severe appearance. The view expands (for the last time) towards the surrounding peaks, first towards the nearby Cima Laione (2757 m), which we reach at 11:00.
