Description:
22-06-2022: Route Km. 9 Elevation gain: Mt. 350 The Dorsale dei Solaroli. On the Grappa Massif, the Dorsale dei Solaroli is a superb and airy grassy crest rising northeast of the famous summit, as well as from the renowned Military Shrine. Right from the latter begins a long and panoramic trail that, developing and staying meanwhile quite high, allows us to traverse this enchanting crest, characterized by a surprising and boundless panorama ranging from mountain to plain, from Belluno Dolomites to Asiago Plateau, from Lagorai to Little Dolomites, and, on the opposite side, weather permitting, from Apennines to Venice Lagoon passing through the great Venetian plain. Moreover, the trail on it allows visiting some of the numerous and heart-wrenching remains, like caves and trenches, of the Great War, of which Monte Grappa was one of the main theaters. The route, overall, presents no particular technical difficulties, however, it is quite long and characterized by several ups and downs that can increase the overall effort, however, and fortunately, along the dorsal trail there are some tracks that allow, if necessary, to return earlier to our car, also for sudden weather changes, which unfortunately happened today. After climbing the first summit, Monte Casonet, we had to return due to the bad weather conditions, also taking rain, a real refreshment given the times that are running.
