Less famous than Ischia and Capri, Procida is a volcanic island in the Gulf of Naples that stands out for its typically Mediterranean beauty made of pastel-colored houses, fishing boats, and small hilltop villages. The island began to become famous towards the end of the 1950s thanks to the book “Arturo's Island” by Elsa Morante and cinematic masterpieces like The Postman with Massimo Troisi and, later, The Talented Mr. Ripley with Matt Damon. When the ferry docks at Procida, it is impossible not to be captivated by this island where the air smells of brine and narrow staircases wind between colorful buildings. You need to take the right time to explore and discover Procida, which is a destination that combines beautiful natural landscapes with historic sites and beaches with crystal-clear sea. The territory of Procida is divided into nine districts, called grancìe.
