Description:
Between Lake Wolfgangsee and Hallstättersee stretches a vast hiking area from which a single 2000er rises above dozens of alms and mountains: the Gamsfeld. Unique is also the view from its summit cross. Hours could one lie up here in the mountain grass and enjoy the all-around panorama. Nearby the Postalm, Rinnkogel and Kalmberg. Schafberg, Zimnitz, Kater- and Höllengebirge, Traunstein, Totes Gebirge, Plassen, Grimming, Hoher Dachstein, Gosaukamm, Tennengebirge and Untersberg. Also Angkogel and Sonnblick, Hochkönig and even the Watzmann from Bavaria complete our view area. The alpine flora surpasses itself here: huge fields of alpine roses in pink bloom. Gentian, sticky catchfly, alpine bellflower, mountain anemones, silver thistle - all these already rare alpine plants are found up here!
