Description: 16.07.2016 Gran Paradiso (Fr. Grand Paradis) at 4061 m a.s.l. is the highest mountain of the Graian Alps and at the same time the highest mountain entirely on Italian soil with its base. It lies in Gran Paradiso National Park, created from a royal hunting reserve in 1856 to protect the Alpine ibex. This park is Italy's oldest and the second oldest in the Alps.
