Description: The Hauenstein Castle Ruins, also known as Hanstein and in folk speech as Pflegerschloß, are the ruins of a hilltop castle on a spur of the Gleinalpe. The history of the castle dates back to the end of the 12th century or the beginning of the 13th century and was built to protect the trade route from the Kainachtal valley over the Gleinalpe to the upper Mur Valley.
