This Adventure is my Personal Favorite Desert Hike/Scramble in Utah and my second and only repeat video because it is such a breathtaking excursion through Capital Reef National Park. Starting at the Grand Wash trail head the trip starts us exploring this impressive deep canyon. Then we will be traversing many epic ledge systems and climbing up steep gullies arriving at Ferns Nipple, a beautiful and petrified sand dune with a steep pointy summit! With careful route finding only the short 25' summit headwall felt to me like easy class 5 climbing. I completed the climb in hiking footwear. The soft sandy nature of the rock does add some difficulty and insecurity if you are planning on the summit scramble, be warned.
