The Parco dei Nebrodi, with over 80 thousand hectares, is the largest protected natural area in all of Sicily. The Monti Nebrodi, with the Peloritani to the East and Madonie to the West, form the Sicilian Apennines, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea to the North, while their southern limit is marked by Etna.
