Description: Beautiful, evocative and 'ancient' via ferrata in Slovenia, in the Julian Alps, ascending to the summit of Mala Mojstrovka at 2332 m. It overcomes 550 m of very vertical elevation gain before descending via a trail on the opposite side. Built about sixty years ago with classic iron pitons, many of which today are held by the steel cable rather than holding it. During the ascent and from the summit, stratospheric views over much of Triglav National Park. It was improvised, hence we lacked helmet, shock absorber and double lanyard. Only a daisy chain lanyard.
