Description: The Via Ferrata of Pentumas, although shorter than the others present in Sardinia, always proves challenging due to a 15-meter vertical along which one pulls oneself up by pushing on an uncomfortable chain (on this occasion we provided assistance with minitraxion). Despite recently enjoying a good re-equipment, it still puts many hikers in difficulty. It winds through the walls on the left orographic bank of the majestic Gola di Pentumas, near a fabulous amphitheater. Unlike other Sardinian via ferratas, it is located in the heart of Supramonte and therefore offers magnificent panoramas over all the surroundings, including Valle di Lanaittu. The Gola di Pentumas constitutes one of the most interesting Sardinian dry canyons, as it is entirely traversable from top with ropes and harnesses facing a long series of verticals.
