Description:
In 1977, Neuhof, a small village with a domain estate, was razed as part of GDR border security measures. A border security fence with an observation tower shaped the scene until the border fell and nature could fully reclaim the area. Thus, a unique landscape formed between the Kiekbuschwiesen and the start of the stone Rinne, which is partially strictly protected. But some old paths (parts of the Kolonnenweg) and the hiking trail towards Ratzeburger See invite hiking.
