Veľký Lysec (547 m a.s.l.)
Among the interesting natural attractions of the Tribeč mountains belongs the geomorphologically unique peak Veľký Lysec rising above the villages Kostoľany pod Tribečom and Velčice. Its summit part consists of massive rock formations, towers and other shapes often of very interesting forms. The most famous is the rock window, allegedly the only one in the entire Tribeč. Under the rocks, there are rock debris and stone seas. From the top of Veľký Lysec, beautiful views open to the village Kostoľany pod Tribečom, to Gýmeš castle rising on the opposite hill, and also to the Tribeč peaks Zobor, Žibrica and Veľký Tribeč. In ancient times, a hillfort stood on Veľký Lysec, the inconspicuous remains of which can still be seen in the summit areas today. The rock walls of the peak, up to 50 meters high in places, provide ideal terrain for climbers. Yellow-marked tourist trails lead to the Veľký Lysec peak from the villages Kostoľany pod Tribečom and Velčice. 16.4.2020
