Description: In the massive rock wall on the northwest slope of the Velká Fatra peak Tlstá, notice a prominent rock overhang resembling the slightly open mouth of a giant animal. This overhang is the entrance to the tourist-freely accessible Mažarná Cave. The fissure cave, 130 m long, is very attractive compared to most of its freely accessible peers; it features dripstone decorations, especially thick stalagmite columns, and sinter pools. In winter, one can admire beautiful icicle decorations here, as well as living – bat decorations, which annually find shelter here from the harshness of the Central European winter climate.
