It's official, K2 has finally been climbed in winter. Nepalese climbers reached the summit of K2 in the afternoon of January 16, 2021 at 5 PM local time. It is the first winter ascent of K2, the second highest peak on earth, and the only 8000er not yet climbed in winter, the most dangerous season. A great success in mountaineering history.
