Kamniška Bistrica - Veliki and Mali Predaselj

Veliki and Mali Predaselj represent the narrowest part of the Kamniška Bistrica riverbed. This is a gorge more than 100 meters long, where the Kamniška Bistrica rushes between vertical walls of solid dark gray limestone. In the central part, the gorge widens into a basin that separates the upper longer gorge Veliki Predaselj from the shorter Mali Predaselj. Veliki Predaselj is 30 meters deep, Mali Predaselj 15 meters. Thus, in both Veliki and Mali Predaselj, rocks have jammed above the riverbed in the past and created natural bridges.
