Description:
Erected on a steep rock, today's Katsch castle ruins throne high above the mouth of the Katschtal into the Murtal, awaiting the visitor. The castle was first mentioned in 1007 and from the 12th century expanded into a powerful roadblock and administrative seat. A 2.2-meter thick ring wall surrounded the castle with a multi-story "strong house". In the 15th and 16th centuries, the castle was expanded and enlarged. From 1838, the castle began to decay.
