Description: 05.07.2020 The Kellenspitze, often also called Kellespitze or Köllenspitze, is with 2238 m a.s.l. the highest mountain of the Tannheimer Mountains. It is located in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Originally, the mountain was called Metzenarsch in common parlance, but when Marie Friederike of Prussia visited the Tegelberg hunting lodge in 1854 and the surrounding peaks were explained to her, they temporarily used the field name In der Kelle at the foot of the mountain, as the original name, which referred to a Matz, i.e., a prostitute, seemed inappropriate.
