Magnificent excursion in a high mountain environment, surrounded by the rich flora and fauna of Monte Civetta.
At Palafavera (1507 m), on the west side of the road, take the dirt road (564, 556) up to the Pioda basin and the homonymous malga (currently only used as an emergency bivouac) (1815 m; 0.45 hrs) near Forcella d'Alleghe. You can also reach here more quickly by the Pioda chairlift from Palafavera to Col de la Traversa (1887 m) - open from early July (July 6, 2019) to early September (September 8, 2019).
