Description: As the last imposing elevation in the southeast of the Ennstaler Alpen, the Lugauer, a huge vertically layered rock dome above the foothills of Hieflau, appears as a proud triangular figure. Standing solitary, it impresses with its double summit undisputedly from every side as a mountain personality. The well-known nickname "Steirisches Matterhorn" undoubtedly owes to the view from the west, as from the east it resembles more a pyramid. The name itself most likely comes from "Luginsland", as this peak impresses with a far-reaching view over the land and a famous deep view into the Radmertal.
