Description: Conservatory Concerts Tartini Hall, Trieste - March 29, 2017
“Souls and Moons” is the title of Paolo Chiarandini’s piano recital entirely dedicated to the Friulian composer Marco Maiero and is the ideal conclusion to the process of reworking some of the composer’s choral pages into piano form, part of the repertoire of the Vôs de mont choir. Paolo Chiarandini, sharing an idea of Maiero, has revisited the songs, delightful poems skillfully modeled on music, proposing them in an original piano version. A sort of Friulian suite emerges that recreates the amazed wonder for life and nature. Poetry does not reveal the mystery. It brings us closer to it to reveal its charm. It is itself an arcane, built on the mysterious power of languages. In this collection, it is the grace and smoothness of the piano’s singing that speaks, through Chiarandini’s skilled elaboration and fascinating touch. 'Souls and Moons' is poetry in poetry. Vibrating strings envelop us in harmonic embraces, in the secret intimacy of music where one can still dream.
