Description:
Video of the hike and night spent at Rifugio-Bivacco Tiziano, on Marmarole. The refuge, a splendid balcony overlooking Tre Cime di Lavaredo, is at 2258 meters altitude in Col de Vallonga, municipality of Auronzo di Cadore. It is owned by CAI Venezia and is closed; to sleep there, keys must be requested from the keeper (link below) and a 5 Euro contribution per night is required. The red bivouac next to it, Dino e Plinio Toso, is always open. In total, there are 9 beds in the tin bivouac and 8 in the refuge, very welcoming and well-maintained. Splendid 360-degree panorama. To the north, beyond Tre Cime, the view extends to Cima Bagni, Popera, Croda dei Toni, Tre Scarperi, Cadin di San Lucano, Cadin della Neve, Picco di Vallandro, Cristallino di Misurina, Croda Rossa d'Ampezzo, and Cristallo. To the south, the majestic northern slopes of Marmarole: Croda Alta di Somprade, Cima dei Camosci, Croda dell'Arbel, Le Selle, Cima Arduini, Cimon del Froppa, Monticello, Cime di Vallonga, and Cima Tiziano. To enjoy these views, one must cover about 1200 meters elevation gain and 6 km on an easy but steep trail.
