Description: The Obir (Slovenian Obir) in Carinthia is the highest mountain massif of the North Karawanks. It culminates in the 2139 m a.s.l. high Hochobir (Slovenian Ojstrc). Other elevations include Kuhberg (2026 m), Kleinobir (1948 m), Vielspitz (1624 m) and Altberg (1552 m). In the eastern part of the massif are the Obir stalactite caves developed as a show cave, in the northern part the Wildensteiner waterfall. From 1891 until its destruction in World War II, a meteorological station called Hannwarte was located at the summit.
