Description: Dorothy Russell and Judith Brown return to one of their favourite routes in the Lake District: Middlefell Buttress.
This film is about Dorothy Russell and her climbing partner Judith Brown. Dorothy and Judith are both in their 70’s and have been climbing from a young age, being among few female trad leaders in the 60’s. Dorothy was sent to Plas-y Brenin in her 20’s by an adventurous aunt, and found in climbing an independence she lacked in normal life. She lives in Skelwith Bridge, and can see Gimmer Crag from her bedroom window, perfect for assessing the condition of her favourite climb ‘D Route’.
