Description:
Today, a short hike between Karwendelgebirge and Wettersteingebirge is on the program. For The Mountaineers, it's off to Mittenwald. The Leutaschklamm is at home here. The Leutaschklamm is the longest developed gorge in the German Limestone Alps and extends from German Mittenwald to Austrian Leutasch. The Leutaschklamm has three paths: the Wasserfallsteig, the Koboldspfad, and the Klammgeistweg. Unfortunately, the Wasserfallsteig is only open in the summer months. So we first went up in switchbacks on the Koboldspfad to the panorama bridge. From here, you have the option to do a small loop tour and cross the bridge to follow the Koboldspfad back to the kiosk from the other side. However, it is recommended not to cross the bridge and instead hike on the Klammgeistweg via iron paths to Leutasch. The Klammgeistweg leads even deeper into the gorge and offers spectacular deep views. From Leutasch, it then goes through the forest on the other side of the gorge back to the starting point.
