Description:
TOUR with stunning panorama from Monte Bianco to Monte Rosa, SUITABLE FOR VERY EXPERIENCED CYCLISTS for E-BIKES up to about 2500m
This is a destination missed a few years ago, when early winter snow had prevented us from bringing the bicycle all the way to the cycling summit located right at 3050m, yet those hairpin bends had made us understand how beautiful the descent on free and dry ground was. So by checking the Pila webcams we realize the route is all clear and so we drive by car from Aosta to nearly 1600m of Verrogne on the road before arriving at Vetan which we unfortunately snubbed and which remains the best starting point. Therefore we initially find ourselves identifying routes between meadows and trails of difficult identification. Only towards 2100m we connect to the mule track arriving from Vetan. We reach the nearly 2400m of Rifugio Fallère, surrounded by dozens of wooden sculptures representing animals or people. From here we take trail 14 towards Fallerè lake, and pedal in sections up to about 2500m, then apart from some limited points, all pushing up to the 3050m summit reachable by MTB. The peak with equipped ropes remains too far given the short days and would take too much time. In any case it obscures only a small slice of the grand 360° panorama that goes from Gruppo del Bianco to end at Monte Rosa and with Grivola dominating the entire route.
