Description: General description Monte Castello di Gaino is an isolated limestone crag overlooking the Brescia side of Lake Garda. The South-West ridge was first climbed in 1913 by Francesco 'Nino' Coppellotti, Arrigo Giannantonj, and Gerolamo Bettoni and today is considered one of the most repeated routes in the entire circle of the Brescia Prealps. The ridge, with a 680m development, ascends the spur along a non-obligatory path exploiting the weakest points. During the ascent, variants are possible that make the climb more continuous.
