Description: 05-08-2015: (Filmed with Samsung HMX-H100P/EDS Video Camera) Monte Chiadenis (Cjadenis in Friulian) is a mountain of the Alps. It is located between the municipalities of Sappada (BL) and Forni Avoltri (UD). During the First World War it became between 1915 and 1917 the scene of operations that saw Italian alpini on one side and Austrian kaiserjäger on the other, and signs of that war are still clearly visible. Monte Avanza: From Rifugio Sorgenti del Piave climb a cart track to Rifugio Calvi. Tackle the ferrata of Monte Chiadenis, reaching Passo dei Cacciatori, descend decisively to the opposite side to a depression at the foot of Torri Genziane. From here climb a track up the steep and tiring scree to Forcella delle Genziane, where the most demanding section begins. Climb zigzag on the left wall and then turn sharply right along a narrow ledge to a notch. Overcome the notch and follow the next ledge to where it ends in a gully to be overcome, very exposed, allowing to gain the summit gravel cap. Without obligatory path reach the small summit cross, passing through remains of war positions.
