Description: Interesting hike completed in about 7 hours including rest stops. Loop trail starting from Barrea camper area (1066 m) on park trails marked J8 J6. After following a good mule track crossing some clearings, take a not always well-marked trail through the narrow Val Capriola between Monte Rotondo on the right and the steeper Monte Chiarano on the left. Then exit onto a vast rocky plateau, turning slightly left skirting the slopes of Monte Chiarano. Optionally climb to the Greco summit on a steep ridge left. Instead extended on a vast desert plateau to Ospeduco (2000 m). Turning left finally after 4 hours reached the summit (2285 m). Sky cloudy, temperature a bit low. Stopped just for a quick rest and photos, continued the loop towards Valle Pistacchia passing left of an evident hut into the steep scree of Vallone Rosso (great caution descending the rocks). The marked trail leads to the ascent path back to start. Took 2h 15' vs 4h ascent. Nice picnic by Lake Barrea near the bridge concluded the hike happily.
