Seeing them during repeated visits to this valley, these two peaks slyly overlooking the village of San Bernolfo from above had not particularly piqued our interest. We are talking about Monte Saletta and Monte Laroussa, separated by Passo di Laroussa which connects Vallone di San Bernolfo with Vallone dell'Ischiator. It may be due to the steep slope rising straight up all in one go through the small valley to the pass or the rugged crest crowning them, or both reasons, that had dissuaded us from tackling them until now.
