Description: November 30, 2016. Monte Zenone (in Parco dell'Alto Garda Bresciano) becomes the goal of today's excursion along the way. In Tremosine, taking the (long) dirt road to S. Michele, we agree it's not worth continuing to the starting base for Tremalzo. Too much distance and few hours of light. So, we park right away near the well-visible itinerary no. 218 signboard: we trust the experience of Lega Montagna who knows these places. Thus, on a military road from the 1915/18 War we climb to 'La Cocca' (0.40 h from start), where the easy path no. 218 bis branches off to Monte Zenone (2.00 h). This last day of November is cool, sunny and clear views towards Lake Garda, squeezed between Brescian Prealps and the majestic Monte Baldo Veronese. From the summit of Zenone a track (north/west) descending to path no. 218 is visible. This because we want to reach 'Bocchetta di Nansesa'. It's not too difficult. Again we follow a Great War path - also made of tunnels in live rock still passable - well marked by directional arrows for today's tourist use. We arrive at Bocchetta almost at noon (3.00 h), just time to refuel. Then, we return down on path no. 218, backtracking a bit to meet the sign for 'La Cocca'. A new itinerary. Through steep then easy paths we reach this locality at 13:50. We could descend to the cars (14:45 – 6.00 h from start) via the military dirt road, but we prefer the nearby Crests with trench remains, with nice sun in the face and... panoramic views.
