Description: Mount Sernio is a mountain of the Carnic Alps, 2,187 m a.s.l., of rocky formation, located together with the nearby Creta Grauzaria in a mountain group wedged between Val d'Incarojo and Val d'Aupa. The first ascent of Sernio caused a stir at the time as, after being judged an 'impossible' mountain by many alpinists, it was first climbed on 21 August 1879 by the sisters Minetta and Annina Grassi, the first all-female rope team. Hence Sernio earned the nickname of the women's mountain.
