Description: The Cordillera Huayhuash with its highest peak Yerupaja at 6,634 meters is considered the second highest mountain range in the tropical zone. Due to its natural diversity and preservation, this cordillera has earned the name 'beauty of the Peruvian Andes'. This interesting mountain range, adorned with beautifully shaped peaks, rugged glaciers, colorful glacial lakes, rich flora and fauna, and friendly locals, has been fascinating numerous Slovenian alpinists for years, including our interlocutors Irena Mrak and Janez Dovžan.
