Description: Geographer and alpinist Andrej Magajne presents the country of Kyrgyzstan, which is considered one of the most mountainous countries in the world, as 80 percent of its surface lies above 1500 meters above sea level.
Kyrgyzstan, which borders China and Kazakhstan, belonged to the Soviet Union until 1991. Therefore, it was quite isolated from the rest of the world. In the last three decades, however, it is opening up more and more. With the Tien Shan mountain range or Heavenly Mountains, it is gradually becoming an increasingly popular destination for alpinists and other adventurers from Western countries. It attracts them primarily with pristine mountain nature, numerous unclimbed peaks and friendly people. All this provides an excellent starting point for unforgettable experiences.
