Starting from Sappada (loc. Borgo Palu') towards passo Enghe. We start pedaling on the flat dirt road winding through Valle del Silenzio. Distracted by the beauty of the forest we continue straight and at the next junction turn right. Unaware of what's ahead we climb a first very steep section. One after another deadly ramps follow without respite depositing us at malga Tamar. Reaching passo della Digola we are enchanted by the magnificent panorama towards the Siera dei Clap group and the peaks of Cadore and Comelico. The descent to Val Frison is partly on dirt road and partly on MTB dedicated trail (Bajorde Bike diff. single trail S1). The ascent to forcella Lavardet develops along the road climbing the wild Val Frison from Campolongo. From forcella Lavardet we lose slight elevation to the junction for Casera Mimoias. Bypassing with some pulls the steep Los ridge, crossing Rio Mimoias waters, we decide to visit the ruins of c.ra Mimoias. We enjoy a vast panorama over the entire Val Pesarina. At the previous junction we proceed on foot on trail 202 heading to the valley between Creste di Enghe and Creta di Mimoias. Among flowery meadows we leave the trail to Passo Elbel on the right and enter the scree under the imposing north wall of Creta di Mimoias. Through boulders preceding a grassy basin we reach Sella di Mimoias. We pedal the airy traverse overlooking Val Frison to the junction with trail 314. A series of narrow and tiring switchbacks finally deposit us on Passo Oberenghe (2081 m). We pushed the MTB on foot for 90 min. A panorama is offered with constant view of Sappada and the Clap group in front of the majestic Terza Grande peak. The descent follows a little frequented path that for its beauty amply repays the effort endured. Past a scree flow and passing on foot a couple of rocky gullies the track continues traversing under the slopes of Terza. Particular attention must be paid to a steep grassy section ruined by water (scooped). We descend along switchbacks on slightly exposed sections proceeding cautiously. Reaching the valley floor we continue quickly skirting Rio Storto on comfortable mule track that later turns into cart track. (Diff. Single trail S2). In Sappada beer toast.
