Description: National Museum of Slovenia By decree of Austrian Emperor Francis I, it was called the Carniolan Provincial Museum, and initially found its premises in the Ljubljana lyceum on Vodnik Square. In 1831 (10 years after its founding), the museum opened its first permanent exhibition, and five years later issued the first guide to the museum collections.
