Description: CAI Este excursion on 18 October 2020 on the Naturalistic Trail of the Central Euganean Hills, no. 2. Start from Castelnuovo, opposite the church, then right towards Boccon for about 200 meters and take the marked trail on the left. Climbing, the sharp trachytic spurs of Forche del Diavolo come into view. Always uphill, following the evident signage, cross Alta Via no. 1 which we will leave later and encounter often on our path. Reaching the Carpanè ridge, we climb further towards Corno del Venda and finally leave the northern area to enjoy the sunnier southern side. We climb to the ruins of the Olivetan monastery, where a nice panorama can be enjoyed; continuing on the eastern side and then northern again of Venda until crossing the asphalt road rising from Castelnuovo. We descend it for a hundred meters then turn right to bypass Mount Baiamonte, a short detour to Priara delle Perlette to admire the panorama and see almost the entire subsequent route. We descend further to the provincial road opposite the former Baiamonte trattoria where we turn right to take the road leading to the former Settimo Cielo restaurant. Following the signage we reach Ca' Noale restaurant and further on the left we take the trail that steeply leads us to the Pirio peaks, beautiful view of the surrounding hills. We descend towards Case Milanta, with a graceful shrine dedicated to the Madonna and from there to the nearby white chapel of the Alpini. Continue towards Mount Arrigon then descend into a narrow valley that leads us to a track which we follow downhill where further on a nice panorama on Monte Grande, Monte della Madonna and the village of Teolo is enjoyed. Arriving at Case Zuccato we climb a gravel road that takes us to Corbeggiare, named after the grape collection baskets (corbe) produced here. Continue right on the white road to a half-hidden trail on the left further on, under the east walls of Rocca Pendice. We start climbing to the base of the east wall and begin to bypass it climbing also steeply until reaching the first climbing routes and climbing to the 'high numbered' and further up, using a chain, until reaching the ruins of Speronella castle. From there descend and ascend to Punta della Croce, descend and ascend to Sasso di San Biagio and finally descend to the provincial road and starting point.
