Description:
Hike starting in the heart of GRAN SASSO National Park at Campo Imperatore.
We immediately follow Trail 101, then the mid-slope to “Sella di Monte Aquila”, from there left at the junction with “Direttissima del Corno Grande”, Trail 103 to “Sella del Brecciaio” with stunning view on Pizzo di Intermesoli. Continue past junction with Trail 154A “delle Creste” and “Comba degli Invalidi”, starting the steepest part of Trail 154 leading to the summit where the cross at 2912m overlooks Piana di Campo Imperatore, seeing the entire “Centenario”, “Vetta Centrale” and “Vetta Orientale” of Gran Sasso and the “Ghiacciaio del Calderone”.
