Description: Kugy route in Razor runs in the northeast face of this wonderful mountain. #freeapproved With Rok, on the last day of winter, we climbed the Kugy route in the NE face of Razor. Since there is considerably less snow this year than usual, some passages in the wall are drier. Especially the first, entry part required some crawling on rock and wedging into thin, fortunately well-processed snow. The central snowfields offered changing conditions, mainly unprocessed snow with a thin crust. In the long gully, we chose the less favorable right variant, which led us through a more open wall to the exit, left-directed gully. A long and strenuous descent followed. First with abseil to the area of the summer path, then ascent to Dovška vratca and descent past Bivak IV to Vrata and from there by road to Peričnik. The snow was heavily sinking in places, the descent was further complicated by nasty crust. It accumulated 1790 meters of ascent and quite a few kilometers of walking. Climbed and walked it must be a even more beautiful alpine experience in good (snow-richer winter) conditions.
