We were at Alpinmesse Innsbruck 2018 and informed ourselves about novelties, highlights, and trends in ski clothing, mountain tours, and equipment. Next season, among others, lighter ski touring boots from Scarpa and visually appealing freeride skis from Salomon will come to market. Salewa impresses with a well-thought-out backpack model with easy access to avalanche emergency equipment for freeride descents and ski touring trips. Avalanche backpack manufacturer ABS continues to save weight. The new model with avalanche airbag for deep snow enthusiasts is about 1.5 kg lighter than last year. In the ski goggles sector, Alpina keeps skiers in view. We also looked at product novelties from Ortovox, Oakley, Hagan, Mammut, Völk, and Blizzard.
