Description:
The Obertrixen Castle was first mentioned in documents as early as 895<br>In the 16th century, however, it became too small and uncomfortable for the owners, so in 1605 a stately Renaissance castle was built at the foot of the castle mountain and the castle was left to decay. Today, remnants of the former fortress include rubble stonework of the residential tower, the residential building, and the castle chapel.
