Description:
The Kandel is with 1241.4m the highest mountain of the central Black Forest and is considered the local mountain of Waldkirch. The mountain is easily reachable by car on a narrow road from Waldkirch in the Münstertal or on a wider road from St. Peter above the Glottertals. From the parking lot it is about 15 minutes on foot to the summit with the famous stone pyramid. Near the parking lot there is a popular take-off slope for paragliders.
